Health Diplomacy Online Course

Health diplomacy is essential for advancing global health objectives by enabling collaboration among governments, international organizations, civil society, the private sector, and academia. Our online health diplomacy course equips participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to develop and implement impactful strategies.

Through case studies, simulations, and hands-on exercises, participants gain real-world experience in health diplomacy. The course is ideal for government officials, civil society leaders, international organization staff, private sector representatives, and academics.

Module Leader

"Jasna Karacic Zanetti is the Head of the Health Diplomacy Unit of International chair in bioethics (Former UNESCO chair). She has a Ph.D. in health diplomacy and patient rights. She served as a diplomat during the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2020, delegated from the Ministry of Health. She is a counselor for the health ministries. Her role involves developing protocols and guidelines based on scientific research which can be implemented in diplomatic practice. As a responsible person for patient rights, she holds consultative status with the United Nations. She got the Rector's Award for Achievements at the UNESCO level for human rights in medicine and the National Geographic award for Justice in sustainable development goals. She was assigned "Young Leader" for health crisis management in 2021. "

• Module 1: Introduction to health diplomacy: : definition, history, and current issues.

• Module 2: Global health challenges and their impact on health diplomacy

• Module 3: Strategies and tactics in health diplomacy ( Including) case studies

• Module 4: Skills development in health diplomacy

Course Outcomes

• Acquire an understanding of the concept of health diplomacy, its history, and its relevance in contemporary global health

• To develop an advanced knowledge of the actors and stakeholders involved in health diplomacy, their roles, and their interests

• Examine the key global health challenges and how they can be addressed through health diplomacy

• Explore the strategies and tactics used in health diplomacy and their effectiveness

• Gain practical examples and case studies of successful health diplomacy initiative

• Be equipped  with the necessary skills to engage in health diplomacy,  including negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution

3- Annual access plan : access all GDF academy courses for a year ( £49 per month paid annually )

4- Institutions Access Plan : For Embassies or Ministries to enrol a certain number of staff
